DESCRIPTION: American Waltham Watch Co.,Waltham, Mass., model 1872 "Riverside", 16 size, 17 jewels, stem wind and lever set, adjusted, damascened gilt plate movement with lever escapement, cut bimetallic balance, gold timing screws, antimagnetic balance spring and Fogg tadpole micrometric regulator in an 18 karat, yellow gold, hinged back and bezel open face case with glazed cuvette, the case back engraved with a fish, shield and rustic cross, and Arabic numeral, single sunk, white enamel dial, blued steel spade and whip hands, serial #3190781, 138.9g TW, c1890.
CONDITION: CASE: Fine scratches on outer surface of case; Fine scratches on inner surface of case; Bow worn; Crown replaced, loose fit with pendant; Precious metal content marked. DIAL: Waltham dial is a later replacement. Scratches minor to dial. HANDS: Good. MOVEMENT PLATES: Minor scratches on plate; Winding wheels with fine scratches; Bright work with a few specks of oxide; Small, shallow hole near ratchet wheel; Loss to blacking in engraving. MOVEMENT FUNCTION: Running order (winds, sets and ticks) .
